SO I was sitting at my desk, innocently reading the news online when something odd happened. The building began to shake, and there was a loud rattling/vibrating sound. My hopes were raised that maybe, just maybe, I'd experienced an earthquake. It's on my list of things to do... eventually.
And SURE ENOUGH I can cross that sucker off the list, because today, at 2:30pmEST there was a 1.8 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter DIRECTLY UNDER MY OFFICE.
I am pleased.
I kind of wish it was stronger. Why not a 4.5? That would have been cool. Oh well. Better luck next time!

It might sound a little destructive but I'd LOVE to sit through an earthquake - sort of exciting, the same way a post-apocalyptic scenario would be exciting. All thrilling and challenging and stuff. Of course, it would quickly lose it's appeal if something really awful happened but, until that point, yay fun!!!
Dune: EXACTLY! I completely want to be witness to a horrible natural disaster, provided I get to be the "protagonist" and live through it with my friends.
Properly prepared and protected to only feel the excitement and be in no real danger, I'd love an earthquake too. We get them with some regularity in old Blighty, but I always seem to miss them.
oh jeez! That is something I NEVER want to experience. While it's the most natural thing to occur...it's NOT NATURAL!!!
