Meat sauce. Why would anyone add meat to tomato sauce?!

Because it's classic Italian...as a person whom I know has been to Italy, I'm very disappointed that you don't agree to a classic! Now, RICOTTA is a different f'n story!

Meat sauce??? I've never heard of such a thing! Unless you mean something like bolognaise?

I am with you 100% on this- I don't like anything sullying up my tomatoes! But then, I also don't eat meat.

RM: It is soooo not classic! Tomato and Basil is classic. And as much as I loved Emilia-Romagna and specifically Bologna, I greatly dislike their sauce. Especially since it's got like, 80% meat and is served over tagliatelle. I do not like tagliatelle!

Dune: Yep, exactly like Bolognese. Except in the States, no one uses proper names for anything foreign =P

Jamie: Yeay!! Nothing should EVER sully tomatoes! They are divinely perfect. And while I'm not nearly a vegetarian, half of what I cook ends up vegetarian =)

I'm with you on the tagliatelle; I'm not fan of it either. It tastes different to linguini, I don't care what anyone says!
